I lost access to my plex server which was integrated with home assistant. Ended up deleting plex off my server completely and started fresh. I removed the Plex integration in home assistant, but when I try to add Plex back through integrations I get the error (Authorization failed, verify token). I think it’s still looking at the previous Plex token.
How do I remove the old Plex token from Home Assistant?
To be clear, you have an old plex token and a new one?
The old plex and old token are gone and no longer accessible. I have a new plex server instance with a new token. This caused issues with other apps as well that were still looking for the old plex token. Home Assistant is one of the last ones I can’t get connected again.
Do you have the Plex config (and token) hardcoded in your config? Try to remove it and add the integration using the UI. It will redirect you to Plex’s auth page and obtain a new dedicated token for HA.
I went through the config and didn’t see anything pertaining to plex. Sounds like there used to be a plex config file that was in the root folder but i can’t see anything.
That config file hasn’t been used for almost 5 years.
If you remove the Plex integration and restart HA, it should give you a clean start to add the new Plex server.
Restarted home assistant and tried to add plex media server through integrations and i get the same error.
Tried both ways to add my plex server through the integration.
Do you own this server? How far do you get when setting up the integration? Do you get redirected to login to plex.tv?
Yup it’s my server. Runs under Windows 11 (I know). Here’s the screenshot of what it says when I try to add it. I’ve tried adding the plex token in as well with the same result. It’s like it still has the old token stored somewhere. I do not get redirected to plex.tv. Instantly get the errors shown.
