Hi guys,i have Xiaomi MiWifi router,i have one static ip(I can connect to it from an external network)
How can i make port forwarding to open home assistant in other network.
How can I configure the HA IP to be local, so that when I connect to a static IP, I will be transferred to the local one?
Now on XA I just have this static IP connected in the settings and I can connect to it from another network, but local devices do not work (like IP cameras)
I did everything as in the instructions, but when I go to my static IP and enter this port, nothing happens, endless loading.
Maybe I need to enter this static IP somewhere?
There is 1 device from the provider to which 2 xiaomi routers are connected via wire, the provider’s device doesn’t even have a network interface, it just provides internet via wire to xiaomi routers .
No, now the static IP is not connected to HA, but for the test I once connected a static IP in the HA settings, and everything worked, just local devices did not work
I have setup like this.
I have 3 xiaomi routers and they are in mesh network mode. i don’t see how static ip address of ha can affect any other device connected to local network. I think you should use a static ip for ha.
There is another way you might try if you don’t want to use ha cloud.
There is some addon for accessing ha via cloudflare. You don’t need port forwarding and maybe this is better solution than this one you are trying.
My xiaomi routers are also in the mesh network.
If I use a static IP address for Ha, it will not see local devices, for example a door lock. Therefore, in the channel about HA they told me that the best option is to do port forwarding
Look what you want to do it remote access to your ha.
As I know port forwarding is a way of accessing some device like computer running ha from different network.
But his is not the only way. It’s maybe less secured way but don’t take me for granted as I’m not pro.
I don’t suggest you to do a port forwarding on your router. If you want to access it from internet check some other options like cloudflare or vpn like tailscale that is really simple to use.
I don’t think that port forwarding has anything to do with problem you described.
