How to connect Ikea light bulb to Home Assistant using deconz, but still have ikea switches connected to bulb directly?

I manage to add an ikea bulb to HA via the conbee zigbee usb stick. I also can add my switch to HA the same way, but I want to have my switches to directly command my bulbs (in case of HA failure or downtime).
Is it possible to:

  • have an ikea bulb and switch paired
  • have that same bulb paired with HA using deconz

ps: I have an ikea hub but this hub sometimes has to be restarted, so not reliable. I switched it off.

I know this does not answer your specific question but it might provide you with a cheap alternative that satisfies your requirement to control lights when Home Assistant is offline …

There are devices that you can place behind the wall switch that perform this function, they control the existing light (no need for a smart lamp) and the existing switch can also be connected. This means that the light can be controlled either by HA or by the switch (the latter still works even when HA is offline).

My home has no neutral behind the light switches so I have used the following WiFi and Zigbee versions.

With these devices you can also replace an existing 1-gang wall switch with a 2-gang or 3-gang wall switch and these appear in the device in HA where they can be used for other things e.g. turning on LED’s, a fan, or activating a scene.

If you have a neutral wire behind your wall switches then you can look for alternative versions with a neutral wire connection.

In the web editor of deCONZ (Phoscon) you can create light groups and configure those groups to be controlled by a remote/switch. This should, in theory at least, create a direct binding between the remote and the lights in the group (which can be just one light).

(I say “in theory” because in my experience, this doesn’t always work properly. It will look okay, and seem to work okay, but when deCONZ is down, it turns out you can’t control the lights with the remote anyway. What’s important is that when creating the group and especially the binding you need to keep the remote awake by pressing a button on it periodically, say every second or so).
