How to create customized response from GA

Hello,
Very new to the Google Assistant and home experience. I am very familiar with Alexa but there are additional features that the GA (Google Home ang Google assistant) has that I’m interested in.

To begin with I’ve noticed that the GA sometimes responses to me by my screen name, because I’m a bit of a narcissist I like this feature. I’d like to have the GA responding to me by my screen name always, either at the beginning or end of phrase.

An example: ‘[screen name] the lights have been turned on. Or [screen name at the end of the phrases,The lights have been turned on [screen name].

I’m also familiar with IFTTT and activity create complex routines using their Creative Platform. I attempted to creat a scene but was met with a ‘$’ within the programming of the trigger phrase. Can anyone tell me the reason for this and what it actually wants me to do.

Again, thank you for your ‘hopefully’ understanding of the noob in me and this new community forum. To be honest I’m fairly certain that these requests have been posted before, but to be candid, I was to lazy to search for them, instead I elected to compose a lengthy ‘request for help’

With the built in Google Assistant integration you can’t do that.

With IFTTT you can - and if you search then you’ll find some threads on it :wink:

Have to search :triumph:, may I ask again why the $ sign is I the creation of a command in the IFTTT platform. I have researched that portions d have come up empty handed.

Without knowing what you’re referring to about the $ sign :man_shrugging: A screen shot, or other details, would help us understand what you’re referring to.

See the $ sign it says something to the effect ‘use the $ symbol to specify where you’ll say the text ingredient
