How to decide on devices - coming from Eq3 Max. (and designing a beer-cooling system)

Hello everybody!

I just recently set up HA on a RPi and find myself excited and itching to order som devices in order to improve both energy efficiency and quality of life

I’m currently running Eq3 max on all non-electric radiators and have window sensors, thermostats, the Eco-switch and a cube. If i understood correctly there is no good way (yet) to integrate the Eq3 system 100% into HA - and since my system is working pretty well I’m thinking of keeping it separate for now - but i have read that the whole line is discontinued and that the cubes have a tendency to disintegrate, so I fear I will be forced to at some point.

I have a couple of “dumb” electric radiators (one with socket and one without) that I was thinking of controlling via HA - I also have a “root-cellar”-type of room (mostly for cooling beer and other beverages) that I am currently renovating. The cellar has no heating, only a “hole in the wall” that lets cold air and keeps it cool.
It works ok but in sometimes in the winter it gets to cold, and in the summer it doesn’t always get cold enough. This being Finland (almost always cold - at least at night) i was thinking that If i install a system with a fan (with a shutter-flap), and have two temperature sensors, the system could let air in when its colder, but not too cold) outside. I think this is something that could be done with HA, right?

Since I’m a total newbie regarding HA i find myself having a hard time knowing if i it’s better to pick and stick to a line of products" (zigbee/xiaomi etc) or if i can just get the devices that “fit the bill” (and are affordable) and make them work.
And if I pick a certain line, should I take into consideration that my Eq3 Max devices might be coming into the equation at some point?

If someone could help a newbie out it would be much appreciated
