These erroneous IP addresses were all caused by false positives created by a bug in my IP scanner software. Upgrading the software to the latest version resolved the issue. Once again it seems I am spared from enduring further expense. Thanks for all the responses.
iphones default setting is to spoof a mac address every time you connect, android and windows also have the “feature” . This causes the router to assign an ip lease every time the device connects.
I think you mean 255.255.252.0.
255.255.255.252 would give you 2 usable IP addresses (4 total including gateway and broadcast).
