Hi!
I have a Sonoff USB dongle as the zigbee coordinator, few routers routers (e.g. Ikea bulb and Ledvance plugs) and few Thermostatt.
I’m now experimenting with ZHA settings to make my zigbee network work better.
By checking the zigbee map, I notice that some links are quite weak (w.r.t. LQI). The thing is some devices locate quite close too each other, but the network does not use that links.
So I wonder how one can enforce a Zigbee network link.
Hope someone could help.
Best,
H
You cannot. The network makes its own decisions based on a number of factors - a lot of them not visible to humans.
You can, after making sure your devices are configured optimally turn off your coordinator and any routing devices for about 20 minutes and cause the zigbee devices to go into ‘panic mode’ hunting for parents at which time you can bring the routing devices back up and the mesh repairs itself (again, without your intervention.)
That said. If it WORKS right now. Leave it alone. You’ll cause headaches worrying about a problem you don’t have.

- Someone told me that LQI over 40 was fine and I find that in practice. Can find or remember the source. Around 40 or above seems to work well.
- What makes you believe ZHA will work better? I think it’s more about updates, simplicity vs separation and UIs. Maybe there’s more?
