How to figure out the best wiring and power supply for parallel/series circuits?

Thanks again for your help! Still learning about making schematics…Is there a software you would recommend for a beginner?

Of course! 220V it is  I will put this together and will let you know how it went in the end. Thank you very much for your help!

Pencil and paper.

Just draw a block for each device, label the pins used then draw the connecting wires. You may have to rearrange the component boxes to minimize the connecting wires crossing each other.

It is also not necessary to show every +V and ground wire. These are called “busses” and they have their own symbols. There are several symbols to represent them. I like to use this one for ground:
ground

And for the power, an arrow or a dot. The most important thing is to label them.

not too far from that then

The schematics you present look very clean. Hopefully I can deal at some point with the abstraction. Will certainly try!

Labels.

Label everything.

No one is going to look up the connections for every device in your schematic. If you want help, make it easy for us. I don’t give a crap what the alternate pin uses are, just the one you are using. I do not like images of the devices. Just draw a box for the device. LABEL it. And label the pins you use. I do not need nor care to see all the pins you aren’t using. The pins you use do NOT have to be representative of their relative position on the physical board. Whatever minimizes the crossed wires. If you do intend the wires to be connected, put a dot on the connection:

There’s dozens of schematic conventions, but think of them as different dialects of the same language. Here’s three commonly used symbols for ground:

Purists will disagree, but for our purposes they all convey the same information. Use whichever you are comfortable with. Just be consistent.

Labels and dots, check. Symbols, still lots to learn since it implies I have enough understanding of different components/situations/purposes in order to understand how to correctly represent them. (ex. I’m at this very minute trying to understand the different ground situations you’ve mentioned)
Also, I’m going to buy a breadboard

For our purposes, they are all the same. Pick whichever symbol you are comfortable drawing on paper. Just be consistent.
