How to Freely Position and Resize Cards in Home Assistant Dashboard?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on setting up a custom dashboard in Home Assistant and need some guidance regarding card positioning and resizing. I’m using the floor plan of my house as a background image and would like to achieve the following:

  1. Interactive Floor Plan: I want to click on a room in the floor plan, which would then display the detailed layout of that specific room. In this view, I would like to control various devices (lights, switches, etc.) placed at their respective positions in the room.
  2. Customizable Card Positioning: So far, the cards, like image cards, have a fixed position on the background. However, I want to be able to freely position and resize these elements on the dashboard. For example, I have some space on the left side of the floor plan where I’d like to display additional information, such as weather data or the next garbage collection schedule.

Is there a way to customize the positioning and size of cards or other elements on the dashboard? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

This should clearly communicate your needs, and you’ll likely get helpful responses!

Thank you in advance to the community!

I have just started using HA as well and have the same desire i.e. customise size and position of the panels on Dashboards, so far all I am able to do is adjust the numbering / order but this does not really help much.
I’ll post here if I find a way, like wise if you resolved this I would love to know how you did it
