How to get home assistant OS to connect to network

tried tot folllow the instructions on the site but first the balena etcher didn’t work ( had to use other soft) and now it doens’t connect to the network.

installed on 250gb ssd drive inside hp nuc like pc powered bij amd proccesor.

either by the wireless or the wired stays the same.
it doesn’t show an ip adress and seems it doesn’t say to the router it is there.

any solutions besides taking the drive out of the pc again?
comaand line isn’t very cooperaitve lol

Hi there, since you are having NUC and tough luck getting the HA OS working, I would suggest you to install HA supervised which is a fancy way of telling you to install HA in docker. By this method you would also be able to use the PC for other services while HA runs inside the docker. It is 99% similar to HA OS.

If you select this method of installation, I think can get away from removing the drive from PC as OS like linux(I prefer it) or windows can be installed using pendrive. After installing the OS you can install HA supervised following the installation instructions from Installation - Home Assistant

Please note I dont know what system you have and its condition.

First step would be to check if it boots correctly, do you have a monitor attached to it and what does it say?
Can u ping the device from the network? Or use a scanner to find its IP address?

Also why did the Balena Etcher fail?

it does boot as should, when ready i have the “command line” ( as de c:// under dos) but after ipv4 there is nothing…
so it doesn’t see or use the wired or wireless adapter

stopped trying, installing debian 11 now and will use that one to run HA.

tried to install on debian 11, didn’t work.
tried installing on rpi3b, no response from the pi. ( it does work with other microsd with other software in it so pi is working ok- HAOS not)

so far wasted a weekend tryin to just get the HA installed…
any tips ?
