Hi, I have a Trust Start-Line APIR-2150 motion detector and I would like to get it to work with Home Assistant, if possible. I don’t have any other Trust device or hub so preferably with HA alone. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!
Do you have it working outside of HA, currently?
That device seems RF 433MHz, so you’ll need something as interface, be it a supported ad-hoc hub, or DIY (RTL 433, if supported)
No, it’s currently unused. I bought it a accidentally some time ago, thinking it was a regular motion sensor. Only now that I started using HA do I see an opportunity to actually use it.
I actually bought an ESP32 and CC1101 for controlling our Somfy blinds so maybe that could be used as well? Just not sure how to actually set it up with that. I haven’t assembled the ESP32/CC1101 yet
If you go DIY, you’ll have to use a receiver, not a transmitter, and foremost, you’ll have to have whatever protocol the device uses decoded.
IMO, if the RTL_433 project doesn’t support it, it’s a lost cause unless you feel strong enough to try to reverse engineer the protocol all by yourself.
It it does, there is an addon floating around.
