How to hide Home Assistant window on macOS startup?

Hello everyone!

I’ve noticed when I start/restart my Mac, the Home Assistant window appears and takes focus. It’s somewhat bothersome because it always shows an Objective-C error of some sort (invalid URL or something like that), probably because I’m using a .mobileconfig with TLS DNS that hasn’t properly initialized before the app starts.

Is there any way to enable only the background agent and nothing more? I don’t really care to have the Home Assistant icon always present and I’m relying on this app mainly for sensors (rather than control of the smart home).

Thanks!

@brody I know you posted this some time ago, but did you ever find a solution? I just installed the HA Mac app today and am experiencing the same stupidness.

Some form of the app has to run in order to get the sensors to work. I figured “Launch App on Login” with only "Show App In Menu Bar: would do the trick. But nope. The whole thing opens up when I log in.
