How to install and configure ser2sock in Hass.io?

I am using Hass.io. I would like to attempt to use ser2sock to utilize Alarm Decoder (I’m having big problems with Home Assistant’s serial interface to it).

Considering a ssh into my Pi now actually puts me into a controller docker container, how can I attempt to set up and configure ser2sock?

Bonus: I’d like to feature request a Hass.io add-on of ser2sock to make this easier for everybody.

I like this idea!

I just ran ser2sock in a VM seperate from hassio, That same VM is running Pi-Hole also. Now it maybe time for you to learn how to build an addon, you are funny, a feature request

My first attempt at a Hass.io add-on: https://github.com/goyney/hassio-addon-ser2sock

There are some bigger issues I need to resolve before being able to get this added to any official resource, but it’s working for me locally at the moment.

Awesome! It looks good
@goyney looks like you fulfilled that feature request rather nicely!
