How to install DSMR

Hi there,

I’m new to Home Assistant. Istalled it yesterday, succesfully added my Zigbee devices. Now I’m looking into adding my DSMR ‘slimme meter’, to be able to monitor my energy usage. I didn’t find the integration via the Integrations menu. But this seems to be normal, apparently the DSMR integration does not support that yet.

I found this page. I added the configuration mentioned there to my configuration.yaml. I happen to have a Kaifa MA105 meter installed in my house, and according to the table on this page, I should use DSMR version 4 for that one. The meter is connected to /dev/ttyUSB0, so I changed that too in the config.

But… nothing is happening. There appears a section on my overview dashboard, saying Enitity not available for all 5 members I added to the group, according to the documentation.

My questions:

  • I did not install anything. Is the DSMR integration already installed by default? Or will it be magically installed whenenver dsmr is mentioned in the configuration.yaml?
  • It would be helpful to be able to see some logging to see if the DSMR integration is trying to do anything, perhaps see what’s going wrong. Is there a way to see logging for a specific integration?

Probably, these are stupid beginners questions. However, I wasn’t able to find any documentation about manually installing integrations that can’t be found via the Integrations menu. Any help would be appreciated!

Best regards,
Bart

Ah, apparently a restart did the trick. After a restart, the DSMR integration suddenly appeared in the supervisor, and values started to appear on the overview page.
