How to install Ubiquiti AP integration for presence detection?

Hi all,

My name is Eric and I am new to Home Assistant: moving from long time Domoticz to Home Assistant and trying to find my way into this. Most is clear, however for basic presence detection I want to use my existing Ubiquity AP LR without the Unifi controller software.
So I found an integration called " Ubiquiti UniFi AP" in the Integrations tab (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/unifi_direct/).

Easy-peasy I thought. However in my Home Assistant installation on a RPI3B I cannot see this integration when clicking + and searching in the list.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing a part of how to setup presence detection in HA?

There are some integrations support UI based flow and some nor, they require to be configured over YAML file.

Please check the page you have shared, it describes you what to do.

That simple. Really? Wow. Ok, then I’ll check this evening and report back.

I didn’t say simple :slight_smile: it is relative, everything was hard for me when i first started setting up home assistant

Well, I added the lines to the configuration.yaml and after a restart it populated the known_devices.yaml with devices known to my AP. So it is safe to assume it works.

Now figure out how I can use this in automations :wink:
