How to locate a person

Hi,
all of us (we’re 3) use Android App and grant to the app the geolocalization rights.

Which step should I run to view our position inside the map ?
What should I check (a flag, a status, or something else in developer tools) to undestand if one of us is inside of one predetermined zone?

Thanks !!

I have to admit that, @least for me, is difficult to understand how things in HA works. They seems really hardly intuitive. May be I’m too old for this things but every function I try to import in HA always takes a long time (and a little bit of frustration).

Regarding how to localize a person I try to read help and community but, once again, I do not have success. While it should be simple…

  • In my HA (on berry) I have three person.
  • Each person has its device tracker.
  • Each one of us use the Android App and grant the geolocalization permissions.
  • I have defined different zones inside maps.

Perfect.
Now I’m expecting that, once all is up and running (HA, smartphones, App, connections, gps signal and so on) I’m able to understand where persons are. Am I right ? At the same, I’m expecting that, if person1 is inside zoneA, status will assume the name of zoneA. Am I right ? Nothing of all happens.

If we (3 person) go out home and we cross three different zones (about 1Km from each other), monitoring our position every 5 minutes (Rednode) I see that person1 (Xiaomi) is alway ‘at home’ and person2 and 3 (Samsung) are always ‘unknown’ . [WTF!]

Intuitively, I don’t see anything strange to expect that HA should update position.
But, clearly, I’m wrong…

Someone could help me ?
