I’ve successfully integrated my Grandstream HT802 analog phone with Home Assistant via VoIP, and the Assistant functionality is working well. However, I’m trying to figure out how to make the phone ring directly from Home Assistant.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
Configured the HT802 with VoIP settings.
Integrated the device with Home Assistant.
I’m now looking for a way to send a signal or trigger that makes the phone ring.
Has anyone done something similar or have any tips on how to achieve this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hate to semi Necro bump this but did you find a solution to this? I have an 801 and the voice works awesome and if you hang it up too soon hass will ring and call back but I cant find a command or action/service to make it just ring
The actions for this were just added in the last couple months.
assist_satellite.announce: This can be used as essentially a notification… the phone rings, you pick up, and it repeatedly speaks the message until you hang up.
assist_satellite.start_conversation: The “start conversation” action requires an AI-based pipeline and provides an actionable notification functionality… the phone rings, you pick up, it speaks the start message and waits for your response.
