How to make the mdi icon invisible?

I don’t want to display the mdi icon, but i want to toggle the ON/OFF switch in the Picture Elements. Meaning i want to hide the mdi icon in the background. Is that possible?

Have you tried mdi:void? Or some other word which ends up in no icon from the library.
