How to make the switchbot lock pro suck less

Hi,
I live in Japan and doors here are a bit different than maybe what you’d expect. Without going into too much detail about that - my main house door is metal/sheet and can hold a magnet.

That said - the Switchbot Lock Pro seems to be one of the few Home Assistant options that I think is viable for my door type and the door types for most Japanese homes. But, let’s be honest - the lock is not the greatest solution. One of the problems being the adhesive used to attach to the door is poor.

Given that the door can attract a magnet, there seems to be an obvious fix for it. But, I’ve tried to just glue on magnets or whatever and I’m just not getting the strength and result I want.

Has anyone done any DIY modifications for their switchbot lock pro? Anything they found in marketplaces to buy as improvements? So, far I am coming up empty. Looking for ideas before I go figure out my own DIY solution

If you want magnets, then look for neodymium magnets.
Magnets are good for holding against a pull of around 90 degrees to the surface, but they are less effective against a pull parallel to the surface, like a slide.
