need to mount a nema 17 to the wall. where can i buy something like this?
that’s DIY. and im using m3 screws to hold the motor in place. would be nice if somebody sells this bracket already!
i was able to retrofit my dumb roller shade into a smart one as seen here DIY your own automatic roller shade for big, or small windows - YouTube . works great for 2 months until the 3d printed part cracked and the belt got loosed.

im afraid it wont work. at least not in the orientation i want with slits for me to adjust positions, allowing me to adjust the belt tension as needed
Did you print part with PLA? Use PETG, ABS or even ASA(+) for your case. ASA is UV resistant and strong material. PLA is not good for these situations, as it’s not UV resistant and also it’s not quite mechanically strong as other materials.

i used PLA and layers separated as seen here
the part was never directly exposed to the sun. let me try PETG next. also, never heard of ASA until now. will try that too. thanks!
