How to play a local MP3 File

is there any possibilty how to play local MP3 files via the Raspberry Pi Sound Output Connector?

I recently used the addon:

But seems that this will not work any more.

Have you looked at mpd?
Not sure if it’s available as an add-on, but will defo allow you to play media on your Pi
