How to Play local media on HA Server hardware

I have HA running on an Odroid N2, I have uploaded a music file to the HA media (which I can play in the browser), but what I want to do is be able to automate playing various music files over the hardware (running speakers directly from the Odroid audio output.
For example create a playlist, play it at a particular time, have events trigger stop or play actions…
Can anybody help ?

I could not get Gstream to work with HA os. Is it just me ?

I’ve never tried, just pointing the guy in a direction.

Now my answer would be the squeezlite addon :slight_smile:

I got the vlc going but they don’t work with Spotify or streaming music service

Installed Volumio

On a pie 3 works pretty good works great with Spotify

After that s bunch of other media players showed up such as
Linn Open home
