Hello. In Android, I have many widgets on (Nova) desktop. However, from time to time, I lose those widgets due to some crash or whatever. When I open or restore HA Companion android app, I can see all defined widgets in widget settings. I just do not have them on Nova android desktop.
Is there a possibility to add or regenerate widgets, that are in companion app widget settings, to get them back to desktop?
no they cannot be added back, the app should be deleting those lost widgets but Nova is probably not reporting things properly. Whatever the case is the issue sounds like a launcher issue.
What is strange is that when I restore both Home assistant and Nova launcher from backup, all other app widgets are restored correctly, except… … guess what? Home Assistant widgets. So I do not think it is launcher issue.
Widgets are in companion app, widgets are on desktop, but they just show as dummy templates. If the companion app somehow knew which dummy widget on desktop belongs to what widget definition in the app, it could update and recreate it from dummy correctly.
server data is not transferred when the app is restored you still need to login to the app and most likely you need to edit the widgets so they can contain new server data. Have you tried that already?
