So far I’ve been using Home Assistant to control a group of lights in my kitchen. I’ve recently added a dishwasher. So this is probably a mega stupid question, but I’ve been searching and I can’t get this to work. I will probably receive scrutiny for asking this.
How do I stop my dishwasher from turning on together with all the lights in the kitchen, if I turn on the button next to the “Kitchen” area? I like to turn on all my lights with this button. And I like that I can turn on the dishwasher from the dashboard. But this is a bit problematic.
Hi, go to your entities (Side menu → Settings → Devices & services → Devices.
Look there for your dishwasher and by selecting it, to the edit on your right upper corner, you can change/remove the area.
I don’t see the dishwasher device in the devices section. Only it’s entities on the entities tab. The device is using the Home Connect integration. On the integrations page I can see the device with its 16 entities.
If I remove the group, I get a similar problem. The dishwasher becomes its own group with a master toggle. Every dishwasher program is also a toggle. When the group toggle is turned on, all programs are turned on, resulting in the last program (maintenance) taking precedence. I just need the power toggle to be turned on, because that will run the last active program. I don’t want to hide the other toggles, because I need those if I want to activate a different program.
