How to remove zigbee coordinator

I recently migrated to a SMLight SLZB-06 in ZHA. I flashed my old Sonoff ZB Dondle-P to a router using Sonoff Dongle Flasher. After flashing I plugged it in to configure it in ZHA as a router. The flash said successful, but it remained as a coordinator. Now I have two coordinators in ZHA. How do I get rid of the Sonoff ZB Dondle-P?

What device name is your Dongle-P showing in ZHA?

Normally, ZHA does not allow two coordinators. If you try to add another coordinator, ZHA will display the following message:

See pic. The main coordinator is a SLZB 06

When you migrated coordinators, the SLZB-06 would have been assigned the ieee address of the original ZBDongle-P.

Did you change the ieee address of the ZBDongle-P when you flashed the router firmware?

If not, then ZHA is probably confused by two devices having the same address.

Ultimately you would need to remove the ZBDongle-P, change the ieee, and re-pair it.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure what the proper steps would be to remove it safely.

yes… The ieee was changed. The ZBDongle-P was flashed using Sonoff’s online flasher. When it gets flashed it wipes out all the stored config on the dongle, so ZHA in HA should look at it as a new device. The issue is that the flash didn’t work, although the Sonoff Online flash program said it was successful. So, when I added a device it was picked up and added to ZHA, but not as a router, rather a coordinator which I can’t find a way to get rid of.

It is impossible for a device to work with a “wiped” address.

I haven’t used the Sonoff online flasher, but I’m 99.9999999% sure the ieee was not changed unless you explicitly keyed in a new ieee address.

I’ve never seen any flashing software that routinely wipes or changes the device’s default ieee address.

Interesting… I restored a backup and have confirmed that the ieee is different than what it is now. I assume that the when the new device SLZB-06 was added it changed automatically as it is definitely different than the first ieee address
