Hi all.
I’ve set up the companion app on my family’s phones and using that to show positioning on a map card. All works fine except that the updates take forever. For example, I have an automation to trigger a notification when my wife is on the way home (5km out from home) and most times it only notifies me when she has already arrived home. I mean, how am I supposed to pack the strippers away in time 
. I’ve set the update frequency on her phone from 15min to 1min but that didn’t seem to resolve. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to solve that?

In the companion app settings try using ‘high accuracy mode’.
EDIT: having said that, I didn’t have it turned on and my location updates nice and quick, enough to disarm my house alarm and start opening the garage as I drive towards my driveway.
The best tracker would be Life360 - updates are quick - I have a bayesian per person, with mobile app, life360 and google maps.

I must be going mad - how* you did you know the OP has Android? …I can’t see it written anywhere (and I cannot see an image).

I’ve set up “high accuracy mode” but that didn’t help.
I’ve done the common steps in the support but I’ll give that a read again as I rushed through it initially so may have missed something.
I’ve tried with 2 different zones (one small and 1 big) but that didn’t change much.
I’ve just seen you can enable the updates in the map icon which I’ve done to see if there is any pattern. I’ll also feed back after doing some more reading.

Does she have bluetooth in the car?
You can enable high accuracy when she connects to the car with an automation
You can actually do this within the companion app settings, no automation required.
It has not worked as it should when I tried that.
I can’t remember exactly what was the issue but an automation as worked better for me.
Strangely, I’ve changed nothing but just set my map card to show the updates, and now it seems to be working. Only managed to test off one trip so will monitor over the next week and see.
