How to stop a zigbee update

Hi, I’m pushed by mistake on the button in HA to update the firmware of a zigbee ikea 5 button. I’m using zigbee2mqtt. Now the update is turning for more than a week and I don’t find a way to stop it.

I deleted the zigbee button form HA and repairing it , then the update stopped for a moment, but came back. Now the update is still turning for day’s.

Does anyone has an idea what I have to do?
Many thanks

The spinner on Z2M is a bug that’s already been fixed in the next pending release. You can wait or use the Z2M edge version (basically release candidate)

Id recommend hold - its cosmetic only

Stop Z2M add on, go to states.json, find your affected device, remove the update payload from the device and then restart Z2M. The loading screen will be cleared.

I have the same issue but I don’t know what you mean with “go to states.jason”.
What is this, where can I find it and how can I “remove the update payload” when I found the device in “states.jason”?
If you can’t give a complete explanation for all of my doubts please tell me a search term to push me in the correct direction. Searching just for “states.jason” wasn’t very helpfull.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, thank you very much!
This was more than expected and crystal clear. It worked as described and I got rid off the spinning FW update wheel in HA.
I hope that this will also be helpfull for other HA users that are as unexperienced as I am.
