How to transfer energy data to a fresh install?

Hi all,

I’m moving my Home Assistant to another server and have chosen to build it from scratch. I would like to restore the energy history from my old HA server to my new one, but I don’t know where to start.

What’s the easiest way to do this?

Because I want a really fresh install with a focus on mqtt and many sensor changes, I don´t want to reload all older settings. So I look for importing Energy data only.

Then I guess you could export your energy history on the old machine to a CSV and re-import on your fresh install using this import statistics integration.

Custom Integration to import long term statistics from a file like csv or tsv

After a lot of research, I managed to implement an integration to import long term statistics from a file like csv or tsv (I did not find any existing integration doing this). This custom integration offers a service with some parameters, the most important one being the file name containing the historical data. In this way, you can easily import historical statistic data into a running HA instance, without the need to be familiar with SQL. You can find it here: GitHub - klausj1/homeassistant…

I did not migrate but used this tool to get my energy history into HA for a brandnew setup. It works well.
