Hello,
I put this up as an issue on Github 3 days ago, but have had not reply as yet.
The documentation for the Alexa Media player says:
If you wish to uninstall this integration, you can click Uninstall on the component in HACS.
However, there is no Uninstall to click on any component. There are 3 dots in the top right corner of the card, but the only likely option is “remove” but this has no effect.
For some custom components you install these first in HACS which then allows you to add if from the Integrations page. I think that to uninstall this needs to be done in the reverse order.
Yes, sorry, I should have mentioned that I did remove them from the config/integrations.
However, the main point is that the instructions imply that there is an “uninstall” button (there isn’t) and I don’t know if “remove” is meant to replace it or what. Clearly this component was written for a previous version of HA. It isn’t doing any harm at the moment, just untidy.
@N1c093 Yep, did delete the folder - that stopped the error message on restart @Jonah1970 sadly, I have restarted several times. I would have expected some kind of confirmation or error message though, not just no effect whatsoever. @flyize I did report it 3 days ago, but no response, which is why I am here.
All I want is to remove this from my list of HACS components. There must be a database somewhere, but I have no idea where to look.
Just to let you know that I have finally succeeded in eliminating the virus formally known as Alexa Media Player.
The answer, if all that is left is the repository card, is to
stop HA
backup .storage/hacs.repositories
edit and delete the Alexa Media Player definition
restart
Dismiss the Alexa M P repository and cheer!
I must say the developer who replied to me when I finally got frustrated with his lack of response came over as rude and arrogant. Clearly he is totally uninterested with people who want to uninstall his software.
My reason for uninstalling was because I realised that it was a low powered version of node-red-contrib-alexa-remote2-applestrudel which I already had installed in Node Red (and which I highly recommend). Lucky thing, as the support at Alexa Media Player seems non-existent.
