How to use BJE 6133 as an interface to KNX Powerline

Good morning, Europe! Good night, America!

Is there any chance to connect an HomeAssistant Installation to a KNX-Powerline-System using this USB interface 6133 from Busch-Jaeger Electrics?

Any hints welcome!

Hi !
Maybe with a Knx Usb to IP bridge software (Calimero or knxd).
But I’d highly recommend to get a proper Knx IP Interface (Gira or Weinzierl are known to work great). These would connect to TP, not PL though. Is your installation pure PL?

Hi, Matthias!

I own and use an IP-KNX-Gateway from Weinzierl and the eibPort from BAB-TEC which’s one leg stands in the IP-Environment, while the other one keeps contact to the PL-World. But now I want to connect my home assistant directly to the Powerline using this USB-Interface 6133 from Busch-Jaeger.

Next idea?! Please!

May I ask why?

You have a perfectly fine and supported interface. Just use that. HAs Knx driver only supports Knx-Ip, not USB.

You may … … I still have a massive number of PowerLine-Sensors which can not be replaced that easily due to the wife-factor …

And why can’t you use those with an IP interface? Don’t you have a PL-TP coupler?

If have a Weinzierl for TP to IP, I have an eibPort for IP to PL … so some kind of domino … I also have a way from TP to PL and back. but I haven’t got a clue how to ask the devices to route those packets
