Hello, there are many Ecowitt Wetterstation users, which also publish their data to public, which you can see when you create an accunt on ecowitt.net. You can see those on a map like this:
I wanted to ask if someone has already retrieved this kind of data and created entities in Home Assistant? It can be done either with Ecowitt API i think, or with scraping data from the website.
Instead of setting up a new device, i would like to merge datas from 2-3 devices in my neighborhood, and use that in my automations.
I just found this thread. I signed up for an Ecowitt account (I don’t own their hardware) to have a look if there are any local people with public data. I was surprised how many there are! So now I am looking to see if there is a way to use their data in Home Assistant. I don’t really have a need for the display etc so don’t want to buy my own setup. All I need is the local data to use in automations etc. For now I am using the data from the local weather authority which is fine but the closest weather station is quite a way from my home so it’s not as accurate as it could be.
I’m guessing that Ecowitt probably don’t make this easy as they would prefer we all buy their hardware.
