How to use modbus for the energy integration

Hi,

I’m using HA for quite a while and now, i got my solar panels and wanted to include the produced energy in the Energy Integration. My MPPT device (EPEVER) is not listed as an own device but it offers a quite impressive and complete modbus documentation.
So, my question would be: Is it possible to use a more generic integration like modbus for the energy integration as well? Second question would be my existing KNX setup includes power metering in the actors as well, so is it possible to add my specific power consumption from KNX into the energy integration as well?

Yes, both are possible. The entities have to be configured accordingly - state_class, unit_of_measurement and device_class - then you are good to go.
