There are too many options and I don’t understand which ones I should be using. Help!

Zigbee is a standalone radio protocol. Both aqara and mijia produce Zigbee compatible products.

3.yeelight hub <> Xiaomi
yeelight produce devices based on Wi-Fi, which can run both mijia app and yeelight app on the same time. Tyeelight produce devices based on ble mesh is designed to run on ble mesh, not Zigbee radios.

Xiaomi mjia has 2 device groups, china and international. And you can’t mix them. China devices are region locked to China server, international devices are region locked to other servers.

Xiaomi mjia has 2 device groups, china and international. And you can’t mix them. China devices are region locked to China server, international devices are region locked to other servers.
Yeelight uses same servers. Yeelight devices are NOT region locked, but servers are.
So if you use Yeelight app, it will work on any server, but if you use Xiaomi servers you have to be in correct region. Buy either all Chinese devices and use China server or all International devices and use local server.

the Aqara app, once you have set up an account and are signed in, you need to select a server. You have a few options, which are;

case 1：当地海外版子设备添加到中国服务器
如果你在中国已经拥有了几个小米生态链产品，到了国外之后在当地的购物渠道再次购买了当地海外版的小米生态链产品，如果你选择的中国地区服务器，在试图绑定设备时会被提示地区不符，那你大概率会遇到2个问题：
米家APP根本搜索不到这个设备
我买的小米热水壶，米家APP根本搜索不到这个设备；
我买的小米路由器，小米WiFi APP会提示绑定失败。
case 2：中国版设备添加到当地海外服务器
从国内寄过来的设备在米家app没有显示
比如说在中国内买的电饭煲 热水壶等智能配件 如果搬到欧洲，连接欧洲的服务器。

Google Play版的APP从登陆界面开始就和从小米商城/小米官网的APP有所差异：多了一个所在地的选项。
