Create a formal integration for Hubspace enabled products. Have seen Hubspace lights on HACs but nothing related to other products such as CEILING FANS (i.e. Sold through Home Depot, etc.) Hubspace is becoming much more common place.
Also looking for this!
I got a hubspace living room fan/light combo that I would love to use through HA.
+1
I’m about to purchase multiple fans for a new home and likely going to settle on products with Hubspace compatibility.
I have a fan/light combo for the last 8 months which I had workind thru a Bond/HA integration. Today that mysteriously stopped working. I would love to have a formal HubSpace integration for HA!
I have 4 fan/light combos using Hubspace (fanlee- Home Depot) would love “official” integration. Could not get HACS version. working.
What is the process to propose/request integration development? Perhaps these are not that popular?
Has anyone try this? - GitHub - jdeath/Hubspace-Homeassistant: Hubspace Integration for Home Assistant
looks like it’s being maintained… about to dive in
I just purchased this from Home Depot, works perfect with HA! Forward / reverse, fine grain speed control, light temperature and dimming! Very impressed with the integration. Hopefully someone will figure out a way to get it out of the cloud API. There’s a bit of a delay for fan changes, but I think that may be the design of the fan because the light responds quickly, so it doesn’t seem to have an API delay afaik.
I will not be recommending this to any of my clients until someone comes up with a hack to operate it locally. It used bluetooth to onboard through the Hubspace app, give them my wifi password to get it up and running in the app. Then installed the HACS integration and give the login info to my Hubspace account, and everything was there and in HA. Really nice integration!
This integration is being maintained! I have been unable to get in contact with Afero regarding a local integration. If anyone else wants to try to get in contact with Afero, please give it a try and pass them my github (Expl0dingBanana (Christopher Dohmen) · GitHub). I have poked around with bluetooth a few times but everything is encrypted and I am unable to figure out the encryption schema based on the QR code.
I was really a bit leery of the Home Depot/Hubspace stuff, but the in-wall dimmer switch was only $15, so I figured I’d give it a try for a switch that controls some outdoor lights.
My main concern is that many of the cheap wifi bulbs I’ve bought in the past just periodically lock up and need a power cycle to reconnect. No big deal on a table lamp, just flip the switch on and off. But for an actual hardwired switch, well - then you’re in a position where to “reboot” it you have to go flip a breaker. I’ve had the Home Depot switch for a year now and I’ve not had to think about it once. Really kind of surprised. Also kind of interesting that such a cheap device also has bluetooth (which is used in initial setup). If there were local support, I’d be putting these all over the house.
