So my hue integration added three hgrp entities. I assume they are related to the rooms within my Hue app. However, they seems to be setup strange. I have two rooms setup in the official Hue app. Living room and office. The hgrp buttons give me strange behaviors…
Hgrp #1 - Controls 4 out of 6 of my living room lights. It also turns hgrp#2 and hgrp#3 on/off
Hgrp #2 - Controls 4 out of 6 of my living room lights, all of my office lights, hgrp#1 and hgrp#3
Hgrp #3 - Controls everything.
As far as I can tell the rooms are set up correctly in my hue app. I have tried restarting the integration, but no change.
I have at least 7 rooms and 10 zones groups set up on the hue hub / app, and have not seen these hgrp entities at all. Over 40 individual hue appliances auto detected in my HA, but no entity with ‘hgrp’ in. I’d probably just disable the entities, to be honest.
Hi Mike, can you still reproduce the suspicious-group issue?
I wonder whether it is related with the Apple Homekit integration with Philips Hue. Do you use Apple Homekit, and create some groups on Homekit? Is there any possibility that these three groups you listed are those you created on Apple Homekit.
Thanks for the reply, I haven’t looked back in while. I originally ignored them. Just reviewed my list of devices and I did not see the hgrp listed. Maybe an update resolved the issue?
