Hue devices randomly unreachable with 2020/2021 updates

I found few similar issues in the past, but not exactly the behaviour I am experiencing, so I open this new topic.

I have HA running on a Linux box (Python virtual environment).
2 Hue bridges controlling 2 floors.
With version 0.118.5 everything works perfectly.
If I upgrade to 2020.12.* or 2021.1.* I start getting all my hue devices (connected to either one of the bridges) getting randomly unavailable. They stay unavailable for seconds, minutes or hours, apparently totally random.
The only way to have my HA instance working is to stock with 0.118, but as you know there are security issues.
I have no idea how to solve this issue, except getting rid of the hue bridges and connect the devices to one or more conbee (I have one and it does not lose connection to HA even with 2020.-2021.)

Anyone of you experiences similar issues?
Any hint?

I have the same issue, but i had this issue also with previous versions (for sure even before 0.118). I was considering also to switch to conbee to get this solved once and forever. For your information in my case, if lights are unavailable through HA, they work correctly with HUE app.

This is exactly my case: the Hue App works perfectly.
Also, google home devices also work (with only one bridge, since the other entities are shared through nabucasa).
So I am quite sure the issue is somewhere between HA and the Hue bridges (the integration???)…

I was able to get some improvement, but I am afraid the issue is not fixed completely.
I removed 3 custom components I used:

  • spotcast
  • hueremote
  • huesensor

Things are getting better, but occasionally I have to restart HA (last time 12 hours ago).
I just installed the latest version (2021.2.0) to see if things change.

In my case everything was working well (even with the above custom components) on version 118.5, so I may go bak to that if 2021 doesn’t work.

Hi Everybody

After disabling the custom components (spotcast, huesensor, hueremote) I am not experiencing this issue anymore…

I may try to enable the latest spotcast and see what happens…

Just adding to the thread - my Hue integration keeps coming up with ‘integration not available’ since the latest update. I can remove, repair and it comes back but then only lasts a few hours before the problems return.
