Hue dimmer switch events detected but automation not running

Hi,

I’m stumped on this one!
I’ve got a zigbee reciever and using ZHA to pair my Hue dimmer switches with.

I’ve got 3 paired up and working great, and went to add a fourth but for some reason automations assigned to it aren’t running.

As the screenshot shows, HA is detecting button presses just fine, but any automations I create for it won’t run.

I have re-paired the switch twice, changed its battery and restarted HA but keep getting the same thing. Seems bizarre the events are being picked up but the automations aren’t working when my other switches are all working great.

Hi,

Might be a long shot, but did you ever find out of what the issue was? Because I am experiencing the exact same problem as you are describing. There is just 1 Hue dimmer switch which fires the events but doesn’t trigger the automations

I just wanted to report my end result here, it suddenly started to work on which I don’t exactly know what I did. I was basically pairing it back to my hue bridge and back to home assistant a couple of times to notice differences.

One thing I did notice for the time it was not working was that the switch which did work sent out three ‘zha_event’ if I pressed the on button for example (recorded via the developer tools) ‘on’, ‘on_short_release’, ‘on_press’. The same happened for the other buttons

The ‘broken’ switch only sent the ‘on’ command, the other two events where not reaching my home assistant

I noticed the same thing, what I did was I try to click “Reconfigure” on the ZHA integration for the switch and while it’s reconfiguring, I pressed all 4 buttons until it “soft resets” and then everything works for me.
