Hue Light Bulbs - No Color Loop or Random Mode

Hello.

Seasons greetings to all. A couple of weeks ago, on all my hue color bulbs, I was able to choose Random or Color Loop mode, which would changes the colors as long as the lights are on.

Recently, I noticed that this option is no longer available. It just says
Attributes
Mode: normal
Dynamics: none.

Any idea how to fix this to get the random and color loop back?

You can’t get them back because Signify (Philips) removed them from the new Hue API.

You can duplicate the random effect using the method shown here:

The Hue integration is now using the new API created by Signify (Philips). The new API eliminated all effects (colorloop and random). You’ll have to create your own method of selecting random colors. For example: service: light.turn_on target: entity_id: light.hue_color_spot_1_2 data: color_name: "{{ ['lawngreen', 'blueviolet', 'magenta', 'yellow', 'red'] | random }}" Reference Color names

To duplicate the colorloop effect you will need to create a script (or automation) employing a repeat to step through the colors.
