Hue Scenes without Hue Bridge

I took them from here: Philips Hue Scenes · GitHub

Thanks for you fast reply (again). Great job on this script.

Guys, I’m a complete HA noob, where does part 3 (the UI) go?

Failing that, what do I do with a blue print :joy:

Well, the blueprint is basically a parameterized script that allows you to specify which lights it should apply to (among other things). Regarding the UI: This depends a little bit on how you want it to look like and how it should be integrated into your dashboard. The easiest way is to use a button card that on click performs the action of starting the script.

To get started, I’d recommend to use the Actions tab in the Developer tools area. There you can play around with the script and find the setting(s) that you like. And from there, you can copy the YAML code that contains all the settings that you like, and integrate them in a card.

Dropping this here as its basically 1:1 hue-scenes and very easy to set scenes (and save them to like an automation, dynamic scenes is also working)

Yes, if had known that this integration existed back then, I would not have made the blueprint … for people running HACS, this might be easier to use.

Hi,

does anybody knows if the blueprint or scene presets is working with the festavia lights?
The festavia has the abbility to set a scene and set have multiple colors on the same strip

Not sure about other options, but how are the different colors / segments shown in home assistant? If they are different light-entities, it should work fine.

today i had some time to check this. I have the festavia connected via Z2M and in HA only one light entity is available but there are all “gardient scenes” already availabel:

Does this work with every philips hue bridge and every color changing lights added or am I just doing something wrong that my colors don’t change?

I have this round bridge philips hue v1 and Paulmann Cybo lights so does it need anything else to make it work?

Edit: Added by hacs of the above-mentioned Scene Preset solves the problem with @Hypfer

Personally I would recommend just using the Hue Bridge. They’re incredibly reliable and basically free. They use almost no energy. The app works great. I can migrate to a new zigbee stick or move my HA instance from bare metal to a VM without losing control of my lights for a couple days.

It’s not an upgrade to get rid of the hub in any way. No matter how reliable HA is, it’s not more reliable than a Hue Hub. You also lose functionality. It also forces you to use capacity on your HA zigbee stick for lightbulbs which otherwise would happily live on a separate mesh. I don’t really get what the point is. It’s worse in basically every way.

Except that many people don’t like the forced use of Philips Hue cloud account, hence wanting to use HA.

I have never owned a Hue Hub.

The HUE bridge also works without using the cloud account if you don’t trust Philips - it is only required during initial setup - thereafter you can block internet access.

And the new Hue Pro may eliminate the need for motion sensors in your home - pretty interesting feature!

It works with HA light entities. Bridge should not matter and I use it across lights from different manufacturers.

I must admit, that does seem very cool.
