Hunter Douglas PowerView Gen 3 integration

Yeah, same here. Any expected timeline?

He folks! Any update here? It looks like there hasn’t been any activity in six weeks or so. What needs to happen to get this across the line? Anything we can do to help?

Helllllooooooo… Is anyone here alive?

Update: Oh! I Just checked GitHub… It looks like it’s actively being worked on over the past week or so. THANK YOU for those working on it!

GitHub Link?

A GitHub Link is literally two comments above yours. I hope you didn’t wait 17 hours to find it.

This one required a pretty massive overhall to the base code, that compounded with the availabiltiy of the HA team the review of the code has taken some time.

I have 3 or so more PR’s to get through now the base has been merged into an ‘intergration branch’ (this means it is not ready for beta yet)

These should be considerablly quicker as the code review will be much shorter

Wish i could do more to push this through for you, i dont actually have a gen3 hub but i am trying to get the code published.

Appreciate all the offers of help but ultimately this one just needs to follow the bouncing ball and most of that will be with the HA team

@rossc719 what window coverings are you using? I have some new TDBU Gen 3 Powerview cellular shades but for the Shutters I did not like the HD solution. I found motors that work with RF and BT out of the box. I am thinking RF is just an easier solution for HA integration.

The setup outlined in this thread using HomeKit works great.

Funny thing… I tried several times to add the gateway in HomeKit but it won’t accept my code next to the QR :frowning: I’m on gateway firmware version 3.1.485. Any good ideas?

I’m using Silhouette Duolite shades… 19 of them.
(Actually 18 right now, because one of them self-destructed and tore off the bottom of the blackout shade… we’re getting it repaired… so for now, it is MIA).

I’ve been looking at Leviosa, and emailing back and forth with them.
They have a “Matter over Threads” solution coming this year, and once it is out and available I might give those a try,

@rossc719 Leviosa looks like a good choice for roller shades.

@regan-a did you ever find out, if the shades can (in theory) be controlled via BLE from a device other than a phone with their app? Did someone try a bluetooth service scan of the motor?
I would like to avoid another gateway …

Hey @patman, I didn’t get any further on that, unfortunately. I ended up purchasing a gen3 gateway and configuring HA to interact with the API directly.

To anyone reading this that is anxious to get their PowerView Shades into Home Assistant - it now has support for HomeKit Controller.

  1. Make sure your Gen 3 gateway and shades have the most recent firmware (updated in PowerView app).
  2. Power cycle your Gen 3 gateway and it should be available for HomeKit pairing for the first 10 minutes.
  3. HA should notify that the Gen 3 gateway is available via HomeKit Controller. The pairing code is on the bottom of your Gen 3 gateway.

@regan-a thanks! I had a look at the Android App and I think a BLE control should be doable. If I’m motivated I’ll just buy the shades and use the smartphone till I’m able to setup a BLE integration. If someone is interested, let me know by reacting to this message.

Thanks for posting this @zapp7. I power cycled my Gateway last night just after reading your post, and sure enough it showed up. Much appreciated!

Hello Patrick,
I am very interested in an Integration for Powerview Gen 3. I do have the blinds and a powerview gateway. From what I am reading here, the “official” integration is not yet released.

I have an extra gen 3 hub I could loan you if it helps.

Good news !

The base PR has finally made it through the review process and been merged. :tada:
Few weeks from there before you can use it but keep an eye out in coming releases. This one has been a long road and appreciate the offer of test hubs etc, unfortunately i would have no gen3 shades to test against anyway.

l still have some features to submit but the core functionality should be coming soon which is what most of you will care about.
