HUSBZB-1 USB not functioning correctly?

I can’t remember, when I connect my HUSBZB-1 USB to a PC, isn’t the blue LED supposed to stay on? Currently, when I connect my HUSBZB-1 USB to my host PC, the LED turns on for about 5-6 seconds… then turns off. However, Windows device manager shows the respective 2 COM ports as “This device is working properly”.

I suspect the device is malfunctioning since my Home Assistant VM boots to a HASSIO login screen instead of starting up normally. I couldn’t find any troubleshooting information on Nortek’s or HomeSeer’s websites about this. Proactively, I ordered a new HUSBZB-1 USB stick from Amazon just in case it’s permanently damaged.

Just checked mine and the blue LED is still lit. Last reboot was 10 hours ago. Since you are running in a VM, you might want to check the VM management app and see if the USB is still connected to the VM.

Thanks for letting me know. It looks like my issue was related to using VirtualBox USB Filtering for my Husbzb-1. I forgot that when my Virtualbox VM starts, it will immediately take full control over the the USB device if it is already plugged in (and set as a filtered USB device in VirtualBox settings.
