Hybrid heating strategy package: climate first, pellet boiler as backup

Hi everyone,

over the summer we moved living and bedroom heat to split climate units. Bath and a few rooms stay hydraulic (tado, heating circuit), plus buffer tank, immersion heater (ELWA / openWB), and an ETA pellet boiler. Goal for shoulder season and winter: stay off the boiler as long as possible while keeping comfort and DHW.

That became a Home Assistant package rather than one automation: modes, setpoints, away, window lockouts, and a one-minute tick. Priority is climate for space heat, buffer/immersion for residual heat and DHW, heating circuit only where needed, pellet rarely and on purpose. There is also mold logic (risk, ventilate vs heat, optional daytime climate boost).

This is a reference install from our house, not a blueprint. Entity IDs need mapping. Mode labels and some ID fragments are still German; bedroom and person names are anonymized aliases. Short English glossary is in the repo.

Feedback welcome if you run a similar climate + buffer + boiler mix. Leave the auto switches off until wiring and setpoints look right.

Cheers
