Hydogen (H2) sensor

Hello

I am searching for a way to integrate two H2 sensor into my HA setup to keep watch on two compartments containing LiFePo4 batteries - Its good that LiFePo4 has no real risk of thermal runaway, but I don’t like sudden H2 explosions either.

Can somebody recommend me a sensor solution for H2?
I would not mind some finished product without tinkering - even if it costs more.

Thanks

For a LiFePo to generate H2 the electrolyte has to break down. Which occurs at high temperatures. So a $1.00 DS18B20 temperature probe should do.

The batteries have temperature probes in their BMS listed which shows temps.
So this would be enough, a H2 sensor overkill?

Hi Sesshoumaru,

Monitor temp., wire in a cooling fan to turn on if needed or just naturally vent it. H2 lighter than air and rises so an outside vent up.
