I am trying to figure out why my iphone/device tracker never change to Away even with all location settings turned on on my phone and companion

I have automations that should be triggering when I exit the zone Home and when arriving but nothing triggers it because my phone and wife’s is always “Home”. Regardless whether the trigger is a “State” or just simply adding device it wouldn’t trigger the automation. A few months ago they do but now they don’t. I noticed though in “Mobile App” that there’s 2 phones under the same name. Is this normal? Deleting them doesn’t work and it comes back after refreshing the app. I have local and external connected in the companion app and I just deleted the local connection thinking that the other device would disappear but they come back anyway.

I was thinking that this might be affecting my automation. Has anyone had the same problem? Any help would be appreciated.

I just checked the entities and they are showing _2 or _3 so somehow there’s multiple entities of the same ones. I cannot get rid of it, how do I delete them?

Something to try…

First, in the phone app, delete the Server under Settings - Companion App - Home and then exit the app.
Second, delete all 4 of those devices in the HA app and restart HA.
Third, launch the app on the phone and log back in.

That should re-create a single instance of the device in HA.

edit: I’m not sure if it makes any difference, but I usually delete the entities by clicking on the Integration name and not on the individual entities:

I cannot delete it at all. It would just say “not loaded”.

Delete the integration, restart HA, and reinstall the integration.
