im running HA in container on Pi 4
im trying to follow a lot of the avail online documentation and videos before asking questions but my HA doesnt always seem like the HA I see others refer to
for example. i can not find any supervisor tab or screen in my HA ( I also cant find any configuration tab or screen
As shown in the docs, the container installation method does not include Supervisor or Add Ons, you have to add and link additional containers yourself.
FWIW, the menus were revamped a while ago… The majority of “Supervisor” menu functions (including Add Ons) have been moved into the “Settings” menu.

ugh. ok, i’ll take a look at that
did i create myself a big hassle by installing HA as a container? I only have one pi 4 right now and i wanted to be able to use it for other things, thats why i did it.
for example i wanted to play aournd with a security camera nvr app like Frigate or MotionEye. do you thiink i will be able to add one of those (presumably as a container also) and still get usable performance?
thx
Depends whether or not you fit the target audience for the installation method. HA container is a pretty low level method (but not the lowest, that’s Core) and expects a lot more knowledge about Linux and container management than higher level installation methods. But since you’re asking this question, the answer is probably yes
There are add-ons for those afaik. So you can use them on a Home Assistant OS installation, on the same system.
Very unlikely. A Pi4 is hopelessly underpowered for video stream processing, regardless of the HA install method.
