I have a weird issue, I’m able to connect my home assistant locally with all my devices and externally through duckdns from PC and one mobile… but from a second mobile I can’t. I already cancel such phone in the integration in my local server, uninstall HA app from mobile, reinstalled but still I can’t reach my server outside my local network with that phone. Any clue?
If you just go into a web browser (not the app) on the problem mobile can you access the Home Assistant instance that way?
If you can access through a web browser by not the app, try going into the Home Assistant apps settings and check that the internal url, external url, and ssid are configured properly on the non-working phone.
I recall having an issue with the internal url and ssid with the app in the past. I don’t even configure an internal url and ssid and just use the external url which links to my duckdns address. Also make sure you specify https in the external url.
If it can’t go through the web browser either there is probably some firewall or other network configuration problem with the phone that will need further troubleshooting.
Thank you, but actually I can’t access neither from the mobile web browser, of course I’m using “https”. In the other phone I don’t even configure an internal url and ssid and just use the external url which links to my duckdns address and works fine.
Have you found a solution? I’m struggling with my girlfriend’s iPhone that isn’t able to connect to the HA server when on mobile network (when on others WI-FI it works).
I’m using DuckDNS and NGINX for remote access.
Troubleshooting I found that:
-Her iPhone with her SIM (Vodafone carrier) can’t connect to HA remotely,
-Her iPhone with my SIM (TIM or Vodafone Business) CAN connect to HA remotely,
-Her iPhone with her SIM can connect to HA remotely IF I’ve previously inserted one of my SIM in her mobile and opened the HA link (after a reboot it no longer connect),
-My iPhone can always connect to HA remotely with both SIM even after a reboot,
The tests have been done using Safari (same results with HA app), don’t know what else to try.
Remote link (login page) can be opened from others devices (pc,mac,android and IOS tablet) without issues from any network…
