I can't see payload from zigbee2mqtt in mosquitto mqtt and hassio

Hi, I’am new with hassio.
I made a connection with xiaomi temp/hum/pressure sensor with a zigbee2mqtt dongle and home assistant. But I can’t find how the see the payload in home assistant.
So what did I do:

#Sensors
sensor:

  • platform: mqtt
    state_topic: “zigbee2mqtt/xiaomi_temp_living”
    name: “Living Temperatuur”
    unit_of_measurement: “°C”
    value_template: “{{ value_json.temperature }}”

What did I wrong ??? I don’t see it. Please advice what I have to change.
Many thanks

I got the same problem. I paired some devices with the dongle and in the zigbee2mqtt log i can see the device reporting the status:

info 2020-01-11 17:55:12: MQTT publish: topic 'zigbee2mqtt/0x00158d0002e6e87a', payload '{"temperature":22.98,"linkquality":115,"humidity":40.85,"battery":100,"voltage":3045}'

In the configuration.yaml from home assistant i added the sensor like this:

sensor:
  - platform: mqtt
    state_topic: "zigbee2mqtt/0x00158d0002e6e87a"
    name: "KitchenHumidity"
    unit_of_measurement: '%'
    value_template: "{{ value_json.humidity }}"
    device_class: "humidity"

I can see the sensor in the developer tools form Home Assistant but the status remains unknown. Any tip on how to solve this?

Thanks.

What do you see when you go to developer tools -> mqtt and listen to zigbee2mqtt/# ?
