I just upgraded HA and now it appears to require that I create and log into a cloud account

I was on home assistant version 0.71, previously. I just, this morning, upgraded to 0.78.3 and, to my surprise, when I tried to pull up my home assistant web interface it prompts me to create a home assistant cloud account. I seem to be unable to get around it! I don’t want a cloud account.

Anyone know if there is any way to disable this from requiring I log into a cloud account?

Thanks,

This is not a cloud account at all. It is a LOCAL ONLY authentication method. You should read the release notes on the versions you skipped over. This was all introduced in .77

Create a user, and it becomes the owner of the system. This has absolutely nothing to do with HA Cloud. It stays local, and you can change it at any time.

Ah! Thank you for the clarification. I’ve been out of the loop for too long. :frowning:

I’ll do some reading and see if I can figure it out.
