I want to install HASS so i read the documention and watched the video

I have a home windows server 2019 that run docker for windows desktop and VMs. i would like to have the version with full on click and go addon support but, that requires an image on a device or VM. or so i that’s how i read it.

NOT A DOCKER! Docker is HASS CORE which require manual add-on installs? Seems like Docker would save on RAM no? but, no app store for docker?

Whats your question?

So it’s really true i have to run a full fledged VM if i want the add-on store? seems kind of ham fisted to me to burn off an extra gig or 2 of RAM for no reason?

You do not need 2 gb ram, but if you grow with addons you will. I have a lot and have a vm with 33% used of 4gb

That is not correct.

You can run HA in docker and can use add-ons too.

You need to install “home assistant supervised” and can be found in the “alternative installation methods” section of the install docs.

from the addon store or do i have manually add them?

If you install “Home Assistant Supervised” then it includes the add-on store.
