I wrote a beginner-friendly Home Assistant automation guide

Wow, just found out this forum existed, this is great! Feels like my work is a little redundant now but oh well.

Anyway, my friend with no technical experience recently decided to start her own smart home journey, so I made her a guide of how to do 5 common smart home automations. I’ve seen a lot of similar questions come up on the homeassistant subreddit (motion lights, away mode, etc), so I figured I might as well clean it up and share it in case it’s helpful to anyone else.

It’s very beginner-friendly and focused on stuff that actually gets used.

Would love feedback, and if there are other kinds of guides people want, I’m happy to make more :slightly_smiling_face:

Wow I wish I knew this existed before I wrote this whole thing. Super helpful though, thank you!

I have reddit blocked in my search engine because I have never once in dozens of tries ever got an answer from that that worked. I’m not exaggerating.
